Mason McElroy's 25-save performance not enough for BSM.

ST. LOUIS PARK, Minn. -- Fifth-ranked Benilde-St. Margaret's dropped it's home finale for 2022-23 as they fell to Eden Prairie, 2-0.

The game marked the Red Knights' first loss this season to an unranked team and was just the second time in 20 games in which they were out-shot this season.

The game was a goaltending battle between the Eagles Isaiah Paulnock and BSM's Mason McElroy.

The only time Eden Prairie was able to beat McElroy was seven minutes, 49 seconds into the second period when Teddy Townsend gave the visitors a lead.

Neither goalie would give up another goal and the Eagles were only able to get their second goal when Cole Saterdalen scored into an empty net with 1:02 to play in the game.

Paulnock recorded the shutout with 19 saves while McElroy turned aside 25 of the 26 shots he faced.

Next up for the Red Knights is a return to Metro West Conference with Orono. Opening faceoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
