Junior winger makes Tigers his college choice

Benilde-St. Margaret's junior left wing Dan Labosky has verbally accepted a scholarship offer from Colorado College.

In his third season as a Red Knight, Labosky has tallied seven goals and 20 points in 10 games this season and has 20 goals and 69 points while playing 64 consecutive games in his career.

In August, Labosky helped lead the U.S. Under-17 Select Team to the title at the Five Nations Cup. The honor came after he had earned all-conference honors for the Red Knights last season and he was selected from the USA Hockey development camp in Rochester, N.Y.

"It was a very exciting off season for Dan," BSM head coach Ken Pauly said. "After his success in the Five Nations Cup, the interest level in Dan spiked.

"We are excited for him and his choice to commit to Colrado College. It's a fabulous school and a great hockey program."

Colorado College will become charter members of the National Collegiate Hockey Conference in 2013. The Tigers are in their 72nd season as a program with 20 NCAA appearances, 10 final four appearances and a pair of national championships.

NCAA rules prohibit student-athletes who are not in their academic senior year of high school from signing a National Letter of Intent. Labosky will be able to officially commit to Colorado College when he signs an NLI with the school during the NCAA's November signing period.
