Ahlborn sets up three in BSM win

Tanner Ahlborn set up three goals and, in its first game since Jack Jablonski's injury, Benilde-St. Margaret's overcame a sluggish start to post a 4-1 win over St. Louis Park.

It took the Red Knights more than 24 minutes to get on the scoreboard and, trailing 1-0, Ahlborn won an offensive zone faceoff in the right circle back to defenseman Chris Hickok, whose shot from the top of the circle found the back of the net to tie the score heading into the second intermission.

BSM scored three times in the final period. Storm Sullivan snapped the tie two minutes, 54 seconds into the final period. He also scored into an empty net with 42 seconds remaining to seal the victory.

Austin Polson-McCannon scored an unassisted goal at 8:55 of the period to give the Red Knights a 3-1 lead.

BSM had a 39-8 advantage in shots on goal. Will Jarvis won his fifth consecutive start by stopping seven of the eight shots he faced.

The Red Knights return to action with another home game Tuesday, when they host Spring Lake Park at the St. Louis Park Recreation Center in a game scheduled for a 4 p.m. start.
