Ulrich paced BSM with career-high four-point outing.

ST. LOUIS PARK, Minn. -- Benilde-St. Margaret's and Moorhead traded goals through two period but a Junior Podein short-handed tally, and a goal from Jack Anderson with seven minutes to play provided the winning margin as the Red Knights claimed a 6-4 win over the Spuds.

After the guests grabbed the initial lead, A.J.Ulrich set up a Dylan Popehn power-play goal before the end of the first period and, three minutes, eight seconds, into the second period, he set up Taylor Salmon and BSM would not trail the rest of the afternoon.

Nick Palmer and Ulrich would add second-period goals but Moorhead matched their three-goal period as the teams headed to the final period, tied 4-4.

It took just 85 seconds into the final frame for the Red Knights to take the lead for good.

While killing a penalty, Mason Stenger got control of the puck in front of his own bench and passed the puck back to Carter Callan in the BSM zone. He then found Podein streaking up the middle of the ice and he broke into the Moorhead zone all also before tallying the eventual game winner.

With 7:01 to play in the game, Anderson took a pass from Salmon and his shot from just inside the blue line found it's way through traffic and into the back of the net.

Up next for the Red Knights is a return to Metro West Conference play, facing St. Louis Park. Game time is slated for Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Junior Podein's third-period short-handed goal snapped a 4-4 tie and proved to be the game winner.
