Red Knights close out regular season on a nine-game winning streak.

VICTORIA, Minn. -- Mason Minor scored both Red Knight goals and Mason McElroy recorded his 11th career shutout as the fifth-ranked Red Knights earned a share of the Metro West Conference title with a 2-0 win at fourth-ranked Chanhassen.

Minor's first goal, his fifth of the season, came nine minutes, 10 seconds into the game when he picked up a loose puck just outside of his own zone.

He carried the puck straight up the ice and, from just inside the right faceoff circle, he released a shot that be Storm goalie Kam Hendrickson over the blocker.

From that point, the teams skated through 40:35 of scoreless hockey, forcing the hosts to pull Hendrickson for an extra attacker with 1:39 to play in the game.

Chanhassen kept up enough pressure on the Red Knights to prevent an empty-net goal until the closing seconds of the game.

Mason Stenger blocked a Chanhassen shot, collected the puck, skated behind his own net and passed the puck along the boards, where Minor collected it on the left side and began a 2-on-1.

Minor looked for a cross-ice pass once but entered the Storm zone before easily depositing the puck into an empty net with 15 seconds to play in the game.

Mason McElroy recorded his 11th career shutout and is third all-time on the school's career list.

Not to be outdone, McElroy stopped all 23 shots he faced for his fifth shutout of the season. It marks the second time in his career he has notched five shutouts, good for a tie for second on the school's single-season shutout list.

With the regular-season concluded, BSM will play next Thursday in the Section 6AA playoffs, with opponent, time and site to be determined at the section seeding meeting, Sunday.
