MINNETONKA, Minn. -- The Section 6AA seeds were voted upon by the eight head coaches and the final results were announced this morning.
Fifth-ranked Benilde-St. Margaret's drew the third seed for the second consecutive year and will play host to Armstrong/Cooper, Thursday, Feb. 22, at 7 p.m. at the St. Louis Park Rec Center.
The two teams met in the season opener this season, with the Red Knights overcoming an early one-goal deficit to post a 6-1 win behind Ben Norris' two goals and three-point outings by Cam Kirschner and Junior Podein.
In all, BSM went 5-1-0 this season versus section opponents. The only loss was a 4-0 loss to Wayzata while the Red Knights defeated Armstrong/Cooper, Edina, Blake, Holy Angels and St. Louis Park.
All quarterfinal games will be played Thursday at 7 p.m. at the home arena of the higher seed.
Co-captain Caleb Koskie leads the Red Knights into the post-season with 10 goals and 22 points in his last nine games.
The top three seeds in the section remain the same as last season, with second-ranked Wayzata earning the top seed and third-ranked Edina being seeded third. The fourth and final home seed went to Holy Angels.
