Besse continues torrid scoring pace, leads BSM past Spring Lake Park

Red Knights post second 15-goal win over Panthers in 2012

Grant Besse posted his fourth four-goal performance in nine games and topped the 30-goal mark for the third consecutive season, leading Benilde-St. Margaret's to a 15-0 win at Spring Lake Park.

It was the second 15-0 win over the Panthers for the Red Knights as 16 of 18 BSM skaters scored points and 11 players scored goals.

Besides his four-goal performance, Besse added a pair of assists. It marked his 13th career hat trick and fifth of the season while giving him nine goals in two games this week and 19 goals during his seven-game goal-scoring streak.

His linemates, T.J. Moore and Dan Labosky got into the scoring act as well. Moore also had a six-point night with a goal and five assists while Labosky also scored a goal and chipped in with four assists.

Chris Hickok scored twice in the game, his first two varsity tallies, and Seth Chumley had a career-best three assists.

BSM held a 64-13 advantage in shots on goal. Justin Quale stopped all 12 of the shots he face before leaving the game with equipment problems..

Twenty of the Red Knights' 64 shots came on six power plays, of which they converted four.

BSM returns to action with a non-conference road game at Wayzata, Monday, Feb. 6. The game is a makeup of the teams' postponed game from Jan. 5 and is slated for a 7 p.m. faceoff at Plymouth Arena.
