Benilde-St. Margaret's junior right wing Grant Besse, who became the school's all-time leading goal scorer last week, earned three prestigious honors for his nine-goal, 11-point performance in two wins last week.
For his efforts, Besse was name the KARE 11 Athlete of the Week (http://www.kare11.com/news/news_article.aspx?storyid=960687) as well as earning a St. Paul Pioneer Press playmaker of the week award (http://www.twincities.com/sports/ci_19904966) and the Minnesota Sports Online Hardware Hank Nuts and Bolt Metro Athlete of the Week honor (http://www.minnesotasportsonline.com/newsarticle.php?yid=&nid=52583).
The Pioneer Press honor is Besse's second of the season from the newspaper and third of his career.
Besse earned the honors after establishing a new BSM record for career goals, getting his 88th, in a five-goal performance in a 7-1 win at Bloomington Jefferson.
Saturday, he scored four goals and added two assists in a 15-0 win over Spring Lake Park while logging just nine minutes, 42 seconds of ice time.
He ended last week with 33 goals and 63 points in 20 games on the season, having scored points in every game this season and 19 goals during a seven-game goal scoring streak.
