Benilde-St. Margaret's Boys' Hockey

Benilde-St. Margaret's (19-6-0) received the third seed today in the Section 6AA playoffs and will host Holy Family(18-7-0) in a quarterfinal game this Thursday, at 7 p.m., at the St. Louis Park Recreation Center.

The Red Knights enter the playoffs ranked eighth in the latest Let's Play Hockey poll and face of Fire team that is making it's debut in Class AA. The 10-year old Holy Family program made the move up from Class A this season.

The top seed in Section 6AA went to second-ranked Minnetonka (22-3-0), which will host a quarterfinal game at 7 p.m., Thursday, against the winner of a play-in game between Minneapolis(17-8-0) and Robbinsdale Cooper (9-15-1), the eighth and ninth seeds. Minneapolis will host that game, Tuesday, at 4:30 p.m. at the Parade Ice Garden.

The second seed went tosixth-ranked Eden Prairie (17-7-1), which will host seventh-seeded Robbinsdale Armstrong (7-17-1), Thursday, at the Eden Prairie Community Center beginning at 7 p.m.

The final quarterfinal match up will feature Lake Conference foes Wayzata (15-9-1), the fourth seed, and Hopkins (10-15-0), the fifth seed, facing off at 7 p.m., Thursday, at Plymouth Arena.

Times for the semifinal games, both of which will take place Saturday, will be determined after the conclusion of the quarterfinal games. The two sites for those games are the Bloomington Ice Garden and Braemar Arena.

The Section 6AA championship game is slated for Wed., Feb. 29, at Mariucci Arena beginning at 6 p.m.
