Jablonski's return, Besse's goals spur BSM win.

Jack Jablonski surprised his teammates with a pregame visit to the lockerroom, returning to the St. Louis Park Recreation Center for the first time since his injury.

Grant Besse then went out and scored four goals, added two assists and Benilde-St. Margaret's posted a 7-0 win over Holy Family in a Section 6AA quarterfinal game.

Jablonski's inspiration helped lift the Red Knights to their third shutout win in four games and it was a victory in which the hosts got off to a fast start.

Dan Labosky stuffed a puck underneath the pads of Fire goalie Nick Schreiter just one minute, 56 seconds into the game to jumpstart the BSM offense.

After helping to set up that goal, Besse went out and scored the next two, notching an even-strength goal barely two minutes later and adding a power-play goal with 4:56 to play in the opening period.

T.J. Moore capped off the four-goal first period when he took a Christian Horn pass and converted it into his 27th goal of the season with 3:31 to play in the opening frame.

The line of Besse, Moore and Labosky teamed up to combine for both of the Red Knights' second-period goals as Besse notched his 43rd and 44th tallies of the season.

Jake Horton joined in on the scoring parade in the third period. After setting up Besse's first goal of the game, the senior co-captain scored the only goal of the final frame 5:22 into the period.

On the other end of the ice, Justin Quale was busy extending his scoreless streak to 164:36 as he stopped all 21 shots he faced before giving way to Anders Jecha for the game's final 8:05.

With the victory, the third-seeded and sixth-ranked Red Knights advanced to the Section 6AA semifinals, where they will meet Robbinsdale Armstrong. The seventh-seeded Falcons upset second-seeded and fifth-ranked Eden Prairie, 2-1.

BSM and Armstrong meet at the Bloomington Ice Garden, Saturday, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for the game are available at BIG until 10 p.m., Friday, and on Saturday at 8 a.m.
