Five Red Knights honored with All-Pioneer Press honors

BSM leaders honored heading into state tourney

The first post-season awards of 2012 were announced and Benilde-St. Margaret's saw five student-athletes on the list of honorees.

Junior right wing Grant Besse was named second-team All-St. Paul Pioneer Press while senior center Christian Horn, senior defenseman Jake Horton were honorable mention selections along with junior center T.J. Moore and junior left wing Dan Labosky.

Besse, with 82 points, is the second leading scorer in Class AA this season. He set BSM's career goal-scoring record this season and became the first player in school history to reach 100 career goals and the first to post both three consecutive seasons with 30 goals and 50 points.

Horn has set school records for career points and assists. In Saturday's Section 6AA championship game, he reached the 200 career point mark. He has set career highs with 40 assists and 65 points this season. 

Horton is the second-leading career scorer amongst defensemen at BSM with 126 career points and ranks seventh overall. He has scored 13 goals this season, nine of which have come on the power play, He's tallied 38 points on the season and leads team defenseman in plus/minus rating (+43).

Labosky and Moore have both reached the 100-point for their careers this season. Both players have reached the 60-point plateau for the first time in their careers.

Moore's 28 goals and 67 points have placed him on BSM's top-10 list for single-season totals and he leads the team in plus/minus rating (+52).

Labosky is second on the team in plus/minus (+48) and his 47 assists on the season are second all-time for the Red Knights.
