When the Los Angeles Kings captured their first Stanley Cup championship, June 11, 2012, former Benilde-St. Margaret's Red Knight Kelly Cheeseman was able to celebrate.
In his 12th season with the Kings, Cheeseman has spent the last four years as Vice President, Ticket Sales and Service for the 2012 Stanley Cup Champions.
At BSM, he was a three-year letterwinner in hockey, playing for coach Ken Pauly. He scored five goals and seven points during his career and was the Red Knights' Sportsmanship Award winner in 1994.
Cheeseman excelled at Baseball, earning BSM's co-Most Valuable Player Award, the Gonsior Hustle Award and all-conference honors as a senior in 1995. He would later earn the Student-Athlete of the Year Award at Northwood University in Florida as a member of the Seahawks' baseball team.
In his current role with the Kings, Cheeseman directs all ticket sales and operations, customer retention and service, database management, marketing and customer relationship management.
As traditions holds, members of the Stanley Cup champion get to spend a day with the trophy. Cheeseman gets his day with the Cup, September 13.
