Arnason sets up all three BSM goals.

Mark Kaske scored all three Benilde-St. Margaret's goals and Matt Arnason assisted on all three goals but it wasn't enough as Maple Grove overcame a pair of one-goal deficits to post a 4-3 win over the Red Knights.

Kaske's first goal came on the power play at the game's six minute, 28 second mark but the Crimson responded with 3:02 to play in the opening stanza.

Kaske restored the one-goal lead just 3:31 into the second period but another goal by the hosts with just over three minutes to play in the period tied the score again as the team's headed into the second intermission.

The score remained tied until Dana Abernathy gave Maple Grove it's first lead with 5:41 to play but Kaske responded just over a minute later to tie the score one last time.

The Crimson went on the power play with 3:41 to play and it took just 27 seconds for Abernathy to notch the eventual game winner.

The Red Knights held a 35-32 edge in shots on goal but had 52 shot attempts to 37 for Maple Grove. Jalen Long made 28 saves for BSM.

A northern road trip will wrap up the pre-Christmas portion of the schedule. The Red Knights will be at Duluth Marshall, Friday, for a 4 p.m. game with a 1 p.m. game at Hibbing slated for Saturday.
