Naas tallies four point in BSM victory at Marshall.

Andrew Sprang stopped a season-high 37 shots to earn the 6-1 win over Marshall.

Grant Besse recorded his 16th career hat trick, Spencer Naas had a four-point night and Andrew Sprang stopped 37 shots as sixth-ranked Benilde-St. Margaret's rolled to a 6-1 win over seventh-ranked, Class A, Duluth Marshall.

It didn't take the Red Knights long to get going as Besse scored his 10th goal of the season just 36 seconds into the game as Johnny Austin's pass sprung him loose at his own blue line and he rushed the puck the rest of the way.

A late power-play goal by Jeremy Lopez would tie the game for the Hilltoppers but, with just over one minute to play in the period, Patrick Graham forced a turnoved and Chase Jungels tipped the loose puck out to the Red Knight blue line.

From there, Naas raced up the left side, cut to the middle when he got into the Hilltopper zone, and beat goalie Alex Murray with a backhand shot for a 2-1 lead.

Labosky's power-play goal just 2:03 into the second period started to break the game open and Besse's 11th goal of the season made it a 4-1 game heading into the third period.

Naas would add his team-leading 13th goal of the season in the third period and Besse's power-play goal with 2:02 to play wrapped up the scoring.

With his third goal, Besse moved into a three-way tie for 12th place on Minnesota all-time goal-scoring list. He is now tied with Garet Chumley, the older brother of current Red Knight winger Seth Chumley, who scored 127 career goals during four seasons (2003-2007) at Cambridge-Isanti.

T.J. Moore, who missed the last two games, rebounded from his absence by recording three assists while Labosky had two assists to go with his power-play goal.

While the Red Knights were putting on an offensive show in the other end of the ice, Sprang was putting on a goaltending clinic in his end. His 16-save first period enabled the visitors to take a 2-1 lead and his 18-saves in the second period allowed BSM to push the lead to three goals.

The Red Knights conclude their two-game road trip tomorrow, playing a 3 p.m. matinee game with Hibbing at venerable Memorial Arena.
