Eagles hand Red Knights first loss in nine games.

Peter Thome matched his season high with 29 saves in the loss at Eden Prairie.

Eden Prairie scored a pair of third period goals and snapped Benilde-St. Margarets' eight-game unbeaten streak with a 3-1 victory.

Although the Eagles took a 1-0 lead just four minutes into the game, Peter Thome's 12 saves in the opening period kept the Red Knights in the game and enabled them to eventually tie the game.

Brady Artwohl picked up a loose puck near his own blue line along the right boards. He rushed up the right wing, cut to the net in the right faceoff circle only to see his shot stopped by John Fick. However, the rebound came directly back to him and he didn't miss his second chance, tying the game 2:01 into the middle stanza.

After getting outshot, 13-6, in the first period, BSM turned the tables in the second by outshooting their hosts, 13-8. However, despite nearly seven minutes of power-play time, the Red Knights were unable to take the lead and the teams headed into the third period tied at 1-1.

There, the Eagles dominated the final 17 minutes of play, scoring twice on 11 shots while killing one more power play, in the game's final three minutes, to preserve the victory.

Thome turned aside 29 shots, matching his season high, while suffering his fourth loss in six decisions.

The Red Knights wrap up the season with two games this week, beginning with Tuesday's 5 p.m. home game with Totino-Grace before finishing the season, Saturday, with a 1 p.m. game at Stillwater.
