Wayzata upends BSM in Section 6AA final.

Spencer Naas set up both Red Knights goals and finished the season with a career-high 31 assists.

Chase Jungels scored twice to give Benilde-St. Margaret's a pair of one-goal leads but Wayzata scored the game's final four goals to earn a trip to next week's state tournament with a 5-2 victory in the Section 6AA championship.

The Red Knights jumped out to an early lead when Jungels scored the first of his two goals, six minutes, 43 seconds into the game.

Ben Newhouse's pass sprung Spencer Naas loose as he was leaving the BSM zone. In the neutral zone, he passed the puck to Jungels on the right and, from there, the sophomore right wing blasted a shot from the top of the right circle past Trojan goalie Aaron Dingmann.

Just over four minutes later, Kyle Olson got that goal back for Wayzata as his shot from inside the blueline, on the power play, deflected off a Red Knight defenseman and past goalie Andrew Sprang.

BSM regained the lead, 1:45 into the second period, when Naas won a faceoff in the left circle in the Wayzata zone. He did so by pushing the puck forward and collecting the puck to the left of the Trojan goal. From there, he threw the puck to the front of the net where Jungels deflected the puck into the far side of the net.

Jalen Wahl got that goal back for Wayzata, just over two minutes later and, at the midpoint of the second period, Chandler Lindstrand's shot from left point found its way into the back of the net to give the Trojans their first lead of the game and one which it would not relinquish.

Despite a 30-22 advantage in shots on goal, BSM was unable to generate many quality scoring chances and, when it did, Dingmann was there to make the save, finishing with 28 stops.

For the Red Knights, ranked second in the state and seeded first in the section tournament, the 2012-13 comes to a close with a 22-6-0 record while Wayzata, ranked eighth and seeded third, enters the state tournament with a 21-7-0 mark.
