Benilde-St. Margaret's Boys' Hockey

Grant Besse scored four goals and five points in his first two varsity hockey games and was honored by both the Minneapolis Star Tribune and the St. Paul Pioneer Press as one of its Metro athletes of the week for his efforts.

The 15-year old freshman led the Red Knights to a pair of wins in the first week of the season, a 4-1 win at St. Cloud Tech and a 9-3 win over Stillwater.

Besse's first varsity goal came on the power play and proved to be the game winner in Tuesday's win at St. Cloud Tech.

Friday, he recorded a hat trick, scoring a pair of power-play goals, while adding an assist in the win over Stillwater.

BSM went 4-for-8 on the power play in the two games with Besse contributing three of the four power-play tallies.
