The Owatonna Express of the North American Hockey League have announced that former Benilde-St. Margaret's goalie Mike Shibrowski will leave the team to join Colorado College after the holiday break.
In 23 appearances with the Express this season, Shibrowski, a 19-year-old from Edina, Minn., holds a 14-4-2 record to compliment a 3.09 goals-against average and a .895 save percentage.
During his career as a Red Knight, Shibrowski wrote his name in the record books in the top five of virtually every goaltending category. He holds the school record for best career goals against average (1.93).
A two-time All-North Suburban Conference honoree, Shibrowski was named honorable mention all-state by the Associated Press in 2008 and earned BSM's Vic St. Martin Coaches Award the same season.
