Red Knights outshoot Ediina 43 - 10 in victory

BSM outplayed Edina throughout the game, but it took a 3 goal 3rd period outburst to put the Hornets away.  The Red Knights defeated Edina 5 - 2.

Edina drew first blood taking advantage of a turnover and converting it into a goal just 40 seconds into the contest.  The Red Knights answered at the 3:45 mark on a shot by Chris Flood, with the assist to Michael Blessing.  The first period ended deadlocked at 1, despite the Red Knights outshooting the Hornets 17 - 6.

After Edina scored another early goal in the second period, BSM answered again at 5:40 of the period on the power play from Ryan Minkoff, assisted by Dominic Burg.  BSM again controlled play and outshot the Hornets by a 13 - 3 margin, but went into the second intermission tied at 2.

The Red Knights came out in the 3rd period determined to put Edina away.  Vince Beacom put the Red Knights ahead for the first time and to stay at 9:50 of the period on the power play, with the assist going to Seth Chumley.  A little over a minute later BSM struck again with Chris Flood scoring from Michael Blessing and Ryan Minkoff.  Joey WInter added an empty net goal off the draw won by Tyler Ellegard in the last minute to seal the victory.  Shots in the 3rd period were 13 - 1 in favor of the Red Knights.  Isaac Melin was in net and earned the victory.

The Red Knights will next take on conference foe Totino-Grace at Parade on Friday.
