The Red Knights took an important step in defending their conference title in defeating Totino-Grace by a score of 8 - 3.  BSM got out fast to a 3 - 0 first period lead, only to see the lead evaporate to 3 - 2 in the second period.  The Red Knights got their second wind and outscored the Eagles after that point 5 - 1 to cruise to the victory.

BSM dominated the first period, outshooting Totino-Grace 14 - 6.  T.J. Moore got the Red Knights going, getting the first of his 2 goals on the night from a feed from Dan Labosky.  Less than 2 minutes later, John Duda beat Eagle netminder Joe Cullen with the assists to Dan Pemberton and Sam Anderson.  BSM closed out the first period scoring with Grant Besse scoring on the power play from Will Nelson and Christian Horn.

Totino-Grace came out fast in the second period with Kyle Mork scoring just 1:02 into the period.  The Eagles cut the BSM lead to 1 when Tony Buchal beat Jacob Meyers on the power play at the 8:16 mark.  This goal seemed to wake up the Red Knights and they answered back at 10:02 on the power play on a pretty passing play from Grant Besse and Christian Horn with Pat Steinhauser getting the goal.  The period ended with BSM ahead 4 - 2.

The Red Knights opened the third period on the power play and Pat Steinhauser scored again at the 1:47 mark from Grant Besse.  T.J. Moore increased the BSM lead to 6 - 2 with a goal from Sam Anderson at 3:06 of the period.  After a Totino-Grace goal midway through the period, the Red Knights again answered back with a pair of goals scored by Christian Horn, the first on the power play from Jake Horton, and later from Patrick Steinhauser and Grant Besse.  BSM outshot the Eagles, 39 - 29 on the night.  Jacob Meyers played solid in net to earn the victory.

The Red Knights will next face highly rated Osseo on Tueday night.
