Jake Horton's 4 assists finish off Saints

Coach Pauly's words in the game program proved prophetic.  He mentioned having to break the pattern of the Red Knight's giving up goals in the first or last minutes of a period or game.  In this case, BSM allowed a goal 2:13 into the first period by Joey Benik, and in the last 1:36 of the third period.  For the 47 plus minutes in between, the Red Knights shut down St. Francis defeating them 6 - 2.

Following the Joey Benik goal for St. Francis at the start of the game, the Red Knights started to take control.  They were controlling play and their work paid off when Ryan Palm tied the game with his first goal of the season at the 10:34 mark from feeds from Jake Horton and Christian Horn.  Less than 3 minutes later, Christian Horn found the back of the net with assists to Grant Besse and Patrick Graham.  The Red Knights had a lead 2 - 1 after 1 period and they wouldn't be looking back.

The Red Knights outshot the Saints 14 - 2 in the second period and increased their lead to 3 - 1 when David Tranvik scored in his second straight game, beating St. Francis goaltender Andy Benik, with the assists going to Jake Horton and John Kernan.  Christian Horn's goal at 11:41 increased the lead to 4 - 1, assists going to Jake Horton and Dan Pemberton.  The final goal by the Red Knights in the period went to Patrick Steinhauser on the power play from Will Nelson and Jake Horton.

Heading into the third period with a comfortable 5 - 1 lead, the Red Knights did not decrease the pressure, as they peppered the St. Francis netminder with 21 more shots.  Patrick Steinhauser scored his second goal of the game at the 4:34 mark from Grant Besse and Patrick Graham to complete the scoring for BSM.  The Red Knights increased their record to 6 - 0 in conference play.

BSM will next take on Robbinsdale-Cooper Tuesday night at New Hope.
