Late Stars goal spoils Red Knights comeback bid

The Red Knights came close to completing a great come back.  After a scoreless first period, BSM saw Holy Angels control the second period and opened up a 3 - 0 lead.  Before the period ended, the Red Knights got a key goal from Will Nelson with just 8 seconds left in the period from Pat Steinhauser and Dan Pemberton.

BSM came out strong in the third period, determined to get back in the game.  Patrick Steinhauser got the Red Knights to within 1 goal just 15 seconds into the third period from feeds from Jake Horton and Patrick Daly.  At 12:06 of the period, BSM tied the game on a shot from Grant Besse, assisted by Christian Horn.  It seemed that the Red Knights had the momentum and were driving for the game winner.  BSM outshot Holy Angels 23 - 6 in the period, and 46 - 31 for the game.  Unfortunately, Holy Angels had other ideas and Joseph LaBate scored what proved to be the game winner with just 2 1/2 minutes remaining in the game.

The Red Knights showed that they can play with anyone this season and they can come back against anyone as well.  These will be important lessons to remember as BSM begins the section 6AA playoffs next Thursday.
