BSM garners top seed in Section 6AA

Unbeaten and top-ranked Red Knights to face Holy Angels.

MINNETONKA, Minn. -- Unbeaten and top-ranked Benilde-St. Margaret's received the number one seed for the Section 6AA boys' hockey tournament in this morning's seeding meeting.

The Red Knights (24-0-1) will host Holy Angels (6-17-0), Thursday, in a quarterfinal game beginning at 7 p.m. at the St. Louis Park Recreation Center.

The Red Knights have won 14 consecutive games since a 4-4 tie with defending Class AA state championship Lakeville North, Dec. 28.

The other quarterfinal match ups feature #2 Wayzata (16-8-1) hosting #7 Armstrong/Cooper (11-12-2); #3 Edina () hosting #6 St. Louis Park (14-11-0); and #4 Cretin-Derham Hall () hosting #5 Hopkins.

All quarterfinal games are set for 7 p.m. starts, Thursday, with the semifinals at either Braemar Arena in Edina, or the Bloomington Ice Garden, Saturday with times to be announced.

The Section 6AA championship game will be held Wed., March 24, at Mariucci Arena beginning at 6 p.m.

 


Nick Austin leads the Red Knights in shots (104) and the team's blueliners in goals (11).
