Benilde-St. Margaret's Boys' Hockey

Benilde-St. Margaret's exploded for 10 first-period goals and Johnny Roux led the way with a hat trick as the Red Knights' junior varsity handed Robbinsdale Cooper a 15-0 defeat.

Already leading 7-0, BSM ended the first period in a flurry as Brooks Rennie, Joey Winter and Roux scored goals in an 18-second span, with the final goal coming with two seconds to play in the opening 15 minutes.

Eleven different players scored goals for the Red Knights and 14 of the 15 skaters BSM dressed tallied points, as did goalie Paul Lundberg, who recorded an assist to go with seven saves in his shutout win.

Rennie, who had two goals and three assists, and Bobby Papetti, with a goal and four assists, paced the offense along with Roux, who added an assist to his three-goal outing while Winter had two goals and two assists.

The Red Knights return to action with a road game Saturday as they take on Chisago Lakes in a 5 p.m. game at Chisago Lakes Arena in Lindstrom.
