Grant Besse records a natural hat trick in Red Knight win.

Grant Besse had a natural hat trick in the second period and Benilde-St. Maragaret's reached double digits in scoring for the second time this season in downing Robbinsdale Cooper, 10-1, in a North Suburban Conference contest.

With the Red Knights already out to a 5-0 lead at the end of the first period, Besse scored five minutes, 15 seconds into the second period and, in less than five minutes, would have the fifth hat trick and 13th multiple-goal game of his career in the books.

Senior co-captain Pat Steinahauser reached the 100-point plateau for his career when he set up the second of Besse's three goals. The assist was his second of the night and third point of the game.

Dan Labosky had a career-high five-point night in the win, registering a goal and four assists, while Jake Horton scored two goals, including his second short-handed marker of the season, and added two assists.

Goalie Justin Quale recorded his fourth win of the season in as many starts by stopping seven shots. He did not face a shot in the opening period but made six saves in the second period.

The win was the second four-point win in conference play for the third-ranked Red Knights, who are now 9-1-0 on the season and 2-0-0 in conference play.

BSM takes that record into another conference contest Saturday as they will be at Chisago Lakes for a 7 p.m. game.
