Rennie goal finishes three-goal comeback.

Benilde-St. Margaret's used a three-goal third period, in which it held a 16-4 advantage in shots on goal, two overcome a two-goal deficit and post a 4-3 junior varsity win over Edina.

The game got off to a fast start for the Red Knights as Dominic Burg scored just seven seconds into the game.

The Hornets countered by tying the score with just 13 seconds remaining in the opening frame on a Kevin Cote goal and Dan Hinueber then scored 42 seconds into the second period to give them the lead.

Cote would score a power-play goal with 4:29 to play in the middle stanza as Edina took a 3-1 lead into the final period.

BSM registered 10 shots on goal in the opening minutes of the third period before Joe Haselman scored at the 3:55 mark.

Garrett Haughey moved into the slot a tucked a shot inside the right post at 6:13 to tie the score and set up the finish.

With the Red Knights again pressuring the Edina net, Brooks Rennie buried a Bobby Papetti rebound with 1:22 to play in the game to complete the comeback.

BSM held a 40-30 advantage in shots on goal for the game. Isaac Melin earned the win by stopping 27 shots.

Due to the fact that St. Louis Park, BSM's varsity opponent Thursday and an opponent for Edina last week, does not have a JV team this season, the Red Knights and Hornets will fill the one-game void in their schedules by facing each other again Thursday.

The game, once again, is slated for 5 p.m. at the Rec Center.
