Moore's hat trick leads way in win over Totino-Grace.

Benilde-St. Margaret's scored five goal in the first period, including two in the last 23 seconds of the opening frame, and handed Totino-Grace a 9-2 defeat.

The opening-period outburst was started by a pair of T.J. Moore goals in the game's first five minutes, two seconds, the second of which was a short-handed effort.

Andrew McDonald got the Eagles back to within a goal of the lead but Christian Horn restored the two-goal lead with 3:20 to play in the first period.

As the clock wound down on the opening stanza, Chris Flood scored with 23 seconds remaining to give BSM a 4-1 lead.

It appear the Red Knights would take that lead into the lockerroom but Grant Besse scored his team-leading 18th goal of the season with five seconds on the clock to give his team a commanding four-goal lead.

BSM had to kill two penalties in the first period and another early in the second period before getting a power-play chance of their own. However, by the middle of the period, the Red Knights found themselves killing a fourth penalty when Jake Horton scored his team-best third short-handed goal of the season.

The goal was also the 10th of the season, a career-high, for the junior defenseman.

Pat Steinhauser also scored in the period to send the game into the third period with BSM leading, 7-0, and ensuring a running time period.

In the final period, Dom Burg's second goal of the season gave the visitors an 8-0 lead before an Xavier Fust power-play tally got Totino-Grace on the scoreboard for the second time.

With two minutes to play, Moore completed his first career hat trick with a power-play, capping the Red Knight win.
