BSM co-captain receives honors from trio of news outlets.

Benilde-St. Margaret's senior co-captain Pat Steinhauser was named an athlete of the week by both the Minneapolis Star Tribune and the St. Paul Pioneer Press for his efforts last week in leading the fifth-ranked Red Knights to a pair of wins, along with Minnesota Sports Online's Hardware Hank Nuts & Bolts Metro Athlete of the Award.

Tuesday, he registered a pair of assists in BSM's 9-2 win at Osseo but it was his Saturday-nigh performance in an 8-6 win at 14th-ranked Holy Angels that caught everyone's attention.

In that win, he tallied a career-high four goals, two of which came on the power-play, and added two assists for a career-best six points. He also had a game-high nine shots on goal while winning 19 of 28 faceoffs.

"You can’t say enough great things about Pat Steinhauser’s game tonight," BSM head coach Ken Pauly said after Saturday's win. "He was the best forward on the ice.

“Pat has been our most consistent forward the last two years," Pauly added. "If we are going to achieve our goals this year then he has to be one of our go-to guys.

"His performance against Holy Angels on Saturday night is a good sign that he is starting to amp up his game as we come down the stretch.”
