Second 55-shot barrage in a week gives Red Knights win.

For the second time in a week the Benilde-St. Margaret's junior varsity racked up 55 shots on goal and that led to a 7-1 win at Spring Lake Park.

All 17 Red Knight skaters got in on the shooting gallery Tuesday, with Chris Hickok leading the way with seven shots on goal.

BSM got out to an early lead when Shea Borer's shot from the top of the slot found its way through traffic and into the back of the net, six minutes, 45 seconds into the game.

Zach Gionet made it a 2-0 game when Brooks Rennie headmanned a pass to him in the neutral. As Gionet crossed the blueline along the right boards, he ripped a shot to the far side of the net with 1:01 to play in the opening frame.

Rennie and Bobby Papetti added goals in the second period before the Panthers got on the scoreboard. Seth Chumley then tipped in a Jack Sims shot to restore the four-goal lead heading into the final period.

BSM then scored twice on the power-play in the final period. Tanner Ahlborn scored midway through the period and Lucas Dickison scored a 4-on-3 power-play goal with 1:27 remaining in the game.

Ten of BSM's shots came on six power-play chances, nearly matching Spring Lake Park's total of 11 shots for the game. Paul Lundberg picked up his second consecutive victory by stopping 10 of those shots.

Offensively, Chumley led the way to the team's 14th win of the season with a goal and three assists while Joey Winter added three assists to give him a team-leading 15 on the season.

The Red Knights return home Thursday for a 5 p.m. game with the Shattuck-St. Mary's midget AA team.
