Ahlborn goals spark come-from-behind win.

Tanner Ahlborn scored two goals to help overcome a two-goal deficit and a four-goal third period lifted Benilde-St. Margaret's to a 6-3 junior varsity win over Totino-Grace.

Despite outshooting its guests, the Red Knights found themselves trailing, 3-1, late in the second period before Ahlborn cut the margin to one goal with two minutes, 26 seconds to play in the middle stanza.

He then sparked a third-period rally by scoring 7:07 into a final period which saw BSM outshoot the Eagles, 21-3.

After tying the game, Bobby Papetti scored goals less than three minutes apart to turn the tie game into a two-goal BSM lead and Zach Gionet, who scored on the power play in the second period, added his second power-play goal of the game, into an empty net, with 14 seconds remaining.

With the win, the Red Knights maintained their unbeaten record versus North Suburban Conference foes. In six seasons in the NSC, BSM has won 68 consecutive games.

The Red Knights conclude their season, Saturday, when they travel to Stillwater for a 7:30 p.m. contest at the St. Croix Valley Rec Center with the Ponies.
