Three-goal surge sends Jaguars to conference-opening win.

ST. LOUIS PARK, Minn. -- Benilde-St. Margaret's scored first but the 15th-ranked Red Knights saw Bloomington Jefferson score the next three and the Red Knights were nver able to catch up, dropping a 3-2 decision to the Jaguars in the Metro West Conference opener for both teams.

After 14 scoreless minutes, Ian Bahr broke the tie when he slipped behind the Jefferson defense, took a pass from Nate Schweitzer and scored with two minutes, 51 seconds remaining in the opening period.

Jefferson got the goal back a mere 75 seconds later when Grayson Hight scored the first of his two goals to send the game into the first intermission tied at 1-1.

The Jaguars then set the hosts on their heals in the fourth minute of the second period when Hight scored on the power-play at 3:26 and, 29 seconds later, Justin Johnson found a seam to the Red Knight net and put away a loose puck for a 3-1 lead.

Less than two minutes later the Red Knights got the goal back when Jackson Bisson snapped home a shot from the left circle, which turned the tied for the hosts.

However, Jaguar goalie Basil Kamsheh rose to the occassion, stopping the final 18 shots he saw, including 13 in the final period, to prevent BSM from getting the equalizer.

The loss snapped a five-game home winning streak for the Red Knights, who are back in action at the St. Louis Park Rec Center in one week, taking on No. 20 Lakeville North beginning at 7 p.m.

Jackson Bisson drew the Red Knights to within one a 3-2 with his second-period goal.
